Oboradar is a tool that allows you to both post, as noted, sightings of jellyfish on the Spanish coast.

The sightings plotted on a map with different icons, depending on the size of the sighting posted (jellyfish, tapeworms, jellyfish swarm of small size, bank size), and also with different opacities (the oldest is watching, the less opacity you will have your icon, coming to disappear after 48 hours of its publication).

How was the idea born?

Every summer, Gabriel García de Tuñón (our founder) used to spend his summers in Ibiza and Formentera. Everything was perfect, the water of the crystal sea, good weather, spectacular beaches... but there was a problem! Depending on the currents, waves, sea temperature, wind and other factors do not knew which beaches were going to have jellyfish (something common in that area mainly due to the sea temperature).

To Gabriel, and many other people, not they had to "try their luck" and go to any beach and expect it not to be "infested" by hundreds of jellyfish. you
When you get to Santander, his hometown, he came up with the idea of creating a tool that would allow any person to check on places where there is a greater number of jellyfish, and which are clean of these animals.
I So came Oboradar!

Any registered user may post a sighting so that other users can see it.

If you belong to an emergency service or forms part of a government organization, you'll be able to post "Sightings official" in Oboradar.
